Scope Clarifications and Exclusions
This page summarizes Section 32 — Important scope clarifications and exclusions from the approved DevOpsWala LMS Statement of Work (SOW). It applies to commercial proposals, implementation projects, and ongoing operations unless a signed agreement explicitly states otherwise.
1. OpenAI API and AI usage
OpenAI API, token, and usage charges are not included in LMS development cost. The platform may support AI tutoring and lab hints when you provide your own API key and accept OpenAI’s terms and billing.
2. Payment gateway fees
Payment gateway setup fees, transaction charges, chargebacks, and currency conversion costs are separate from software development and are billed by your payment provider (for example Razorpay or Stripe).
3. Hosting and infrastructure
Hosting, VPS, cloud compute, object storage, bandwidth, CDN, backups, and monitoring costs are separate unless explicitly included in your commercial proposal.
Lab infrastructure costs depend on concurrent students, CPU/RAM/storage/network requirements, and the chosen isolation technology (sandbox, containers, VMs, or Kubernetes).
4. Third-party plugins and licenses
Third-party paid plugins, APIs, video platforms, transactional email services, SCORM authoring tools or runtime libraries, and commercial software licenses are separate unless specifically included in your agreement.
5. SCORM, video security, and DevOps labs
SCORM support depends on the finalized SCORM version and on sample packages you supply for testing and import validation.
Video security (authentication, private storage, streaming controls) reduces unauthorized access but cannot guarantee prevention of screen recording or capture on end-user devices.
Actual DevOps lab execution requires appropriate server or cloud infrastructure, network isolation, and security configuration beyond application code alone.
6. Advanced cloud and multi-region
Advanced cloud infrastructure, autoscaling, Kubernetes-based lab orchestration, multi-region deployment, or dedicated high-availability architectures require separate technical estimation if you need them in production.
7. Content and data migration
Content entry, bulk course authoring, media production, and migration from legacy LMS or spreadsheets are handled by the client unless included as a separate statement of work.
8. Features outside the approved SOW
Any feature, integration, or deliverable not specifically listed in the approved SOW is treated as additional scope and may require additional cost and timeline.
Section 27A functional additions that are explicitly listed in the final SOP & SOW remain in scope for the agreed build; this page does not limit those items when they are part of your signed scope.
